What’s On This Weekend
Friday 9 to Monday 12 October
IN THIS ISSUE: This Weekend · For the Kids · Big Kids · Coming Up · Worth the Drive · Have a Crack · Good to Know

Morning,

This is Issue 1. The very first one.

Here’s the thing about round here. The good stuff is never where you look for it.

It’s a flyer on the noticeboard next to the trolleys. A food truck that parks up for two hours on a Thursday. A free class at the library nobody told you about.

So I go looking. Constantly. Then I put it all here.

This one’s a quick weekend edition. Free music by the water at Deception Bay on Saturday. A nature festival on Bribie all weekend. Drag racing at Willowbank for the big kids. And council has voted to make the tip a bit stingier.

From Tuesday it lands every week.

Good to Know
The tip is getting stingier. Right now each property gets 3 tonnes or 26 free visits a year. From 1 July 2027 that drops to 2.5 tonnes or 20 visits. It drops again from 2030. Recycling, green waste, hazardous waste and reusable stuff stay free. Council’s announcement
Storm season’s nearly here. Clean the gutters. Trim the branches over the roof. Pack enough food, water and meds for three days. Then sign up to MoretonAlert so warnings come straight to your phone. It’s free. Sign up to MoretonAlert
